8:30AM – 4:30PM (8 hours event)

Our Commercial Mushroom Cultivation Class is a 2-day course located at Myers Mushrooms LLC, Haysville Kansas. The class is two 8-hour days with formal lecture and hands on. The topics covered include cooking agar from scratch, pouring agar plates, agar transfers, tissue samples, culture storage, spawn preparation, grain to grain, agar to grain, sawdust substrate preparation, bagging methods, bulk substrate inoculation, sterilizer designs, incubation design, fruiting room design, farm layout, humidification, HVAC design, marketing, and species requirements. You also get lifetime access to all the slides and resources used during class. You are free to take home spawn, and cultures prepared during the class. Lunch is included on both days, day one will be a mushroom cooking demo and lunch. Laptops encouraged but not required. Farm is located 15 min from ITC Wichita airport. For hotel arrangements there is the Sleep Inn and Suites and Haysville Express Inn 5 minutes from the farm located in Haysville. If you would like to take advantage of downtown Wichita night life there are dozens of hotels in Wichita 15-20 min away, Douglas Ave is one of the the main night life streets.
